$185 for the first room and $90 for each additional room. Great rooms and other large and/or odd shape areas need to be considered more than one room. Extra cost if we need to Cut and re-seam seams. Cost will depend on length of the seam and how many. (Some conditions apply)

Moving basic furniture is included with this service and usually not a problem. Not all furniture will have to be moved.  Please have loose items removed from the floor and the tops of furniture. Please be considerate and vacuum the rooms if needed. We will leave the room Clean so we expect clean work conditions to start with.

Have your carpet stretched right the second time. We use the correct tools to achieve the proper stretch in your carpet so wrinkles do not form over time. CRI installation standards require the use a carpet stretcher or power stretcher to achieve a proper stretch.

What causes wrinkles in your carpet?

There can be many reason for carpet to start wrinkling up over time. The most common and main reason is improper installation. There are a few things that could go wrong here.

  1.  Not stretching the carpet enough to stay tight over time.
  2. The tack-strips that hold the carpet tight are not fasten correctly or installed backwards.
  3. Tucking too much carpet into the walls causes the carpet to push off the pins in the tack-strip
  4. The installer did not have the skill to hook the carpet onto the tacks of the tack-strip and keep it on while tucking.

Installing wall to wall carpet is not an easy task and can take years to master the skills necessary to have an installation last the life of the carpet. But it is not always the installers fault your carpet starts to form wrinkles.

  1. The over use of retail steam cleaners will break down and degrade the integrity of the carpet backing. Some carpet manufactures require professional cleanings one to two times a year at the most. This is necessary to keep your carpets from forming permanent soiling. Professional cleaning systems remove much more water and do it faster than retail versions that look like upright vacuums. This keeps the backing dry as possible so not to damage it.
  2. Buying the wrong padding will cause too much movement with regular foot traffic. Sometimes customers will buy cheaper pad to be able to afford the carpet they want. These cheaper pads are to only be used under apartment grade and builder grade carpets. These grades of carpet typically have a life of only a few years before replaced. The better and denser the pad the better it is for your carpets life.
  3. Rolling loads are a common issue in flooring warranties. Rolling loads will void any warranties for wall to wall carpeting that is stretched over pad. A rolling load is when wheels are going across the floor. Wheelchairs, carts, and wheeled desk chairs are all types of rolling loads and can form wrinkles in carpet over time. If rolling loads will be present and you need carpet there are other installation methods available that involved gluing the carpet and pad down.

How Much Does Carpet Repair Cost.

We have a  minimum of $185 to show up at your house and do repair work. For multiple repairs we will inform you of the total cost before any work is started. Usually a price can be demined by texting/email pictures to 302-313-6887 Factors we will consider are the number, size, and type of repairs that will be performed.

How do we repair your carpet?

Each repair job will be unique because of factors like pile/carpet type, area of the repair, and type of damage. Most stains and burns will need to be cut out and patched with donor carpet. Donor carpet needs to be the same carpet, off of the same roll, installed on the day the carpet was installed. If no extra was saved from when the carpet was installed we can grab donor carpet from an inconspicuous spot like a closet or under a piece of furniture. Then replace that area with like carpet but not exact carpet. Buying new carpet to use as donor carpet never works out well. If you are able to purchase the same exact carpet, the colors will be off because of something called a "dye lot". There is slight variation in shade when dyes are refiled in the manufacture process. So even if you are able to buy the same carpet it is always best to use it to replace the spot where we get the donor carpet and not use it to do the patch.

For rips in your carpet we usually will cut out and patch it like described above. Sometimes if the tear is clean and fresh we can seam it back together without donor carpet.

Lots of carpets get ripped up by pets. They get stuck in a room when they close a door and realize they need hands to use a door knob then try to dig their way out. Sometimes they just smell something and dig in that spot. And other pets can just be destructive and do it for no reason also.  Carpet tearing caused by pets needs to be cut out and patched with donor carpet.

Carpet can also rip when pushing heavy furniture across it. And as long as it only damages the backing it can be seamed back together with special equipment and seam tape. Otherwise we will need donor carpet to patch the area.
